p a i n t i n g

One of my favorite parts of the antique booth is when we obtain furniture and need to re-work it. We won two retro-looking side tables at one of my auctions and I decided that it was their destiny to be silver. And silver they have become.

While I was keeping Ella, we had numerous painting projects for her school stuff and I had to find ways to pass the time...so I painted Lynny a cow named Henry and a moose named Otis for Johnny. Although, Johnny thinks Otis looks more like an elk...he is a moose.

Tonight, we made butter cookies and I only bought Valentines colors because I thought I had heart-shaped cookie cutters but as it turned out...I did not. Therefore, we used my sea-themed cutters and used the pink and red icing I bought anyways. I made a red octopus and Bill made a pink and red whale...which he devoured moments later. Happy Monday.

I'd live here...Mondays

A S S O R T M E N T

Currently curled up on the couch with my little mini-me watching American Idol [guilty] and painting. Tonight's animal of choice was a moose and I named him Otis. Also, I finally got around to painting two side tables for our antique booth. I chose a metallic silver and they look lovely. Unfortunately, I don't have my camera cord so here are a few pieces of visual stimulation in the mean time. Goodnight my loves.

almost there...

So I'm a little over halfway done with my stint as a mother and it has gone exceedingly better than expected. Ella is very self-sufficient so my tasks are very minimal. For example, she wakes herself up in the mornings, showers, and fixes herself a cup of coffee. My job only begins out of sheer necessity when she drags me out of bed minutes before departure only to drive her to school [which she would do herself it were legal]. I spend my days working one of my several jobs [EYC, MCA, The Burlap Rabbit, or writing] and return to BA at the end of each day to pick her up. As soon as we get home, she completes her homework and then we watch Pretty Little Liars, Gilmore Girls, etc before falling asleep - like clockwork. This past weekend, we went to a very depressing flea market [the turnout was terrible because of the snow]. However, we found a very cute vanity that we ended up purchasing for her bedroom.

Although the math and grammar homework haven't been as fun, her school projects that require painting have been quite enjoyable. We made a book about Where the Red Fern Grows - a favorite of mine.  I also painted the cow to the right. His name is Henry and he costs $350. In other news, the parental units return Saturday. More updates to come. So far, so good.

I'd live here M O N D A Y S

I'll just post this one photo for the week because I love it so much. It portrays my design aesthetic perfectly. I'm digging the industrial, primitive feel this kitchen gives off. It is dirty...but almost okay that it is dirty. This kitchen looks very, very used and I love that. I'm also in love with that rack the bottles are resting on and the dishes stored on the right. L. vignette

There's a new, lovely home decor store in Brentwood called Vignette. I like. Consider this an informal announcement that something like this [but with an antique twist] will be coming to you from Joey and Lynny Productions in the future. JUST. YOU. WAIT.

favorites

I'm not going to bore you with exceptionally long reasons why I love these dresses. I like simple and I like over-the-top and usually nothing in between. This year, the simple captured my heart. These are my favorite dresses from the 2011 Golden Globes. On a side note or two, I loved that Chris Colfer won. His speech was adorable and perfect. I also loved Ricky Gervais and his inability to hold back. I also found Robert Downey Jr. handsome AND hilarious. Double whammy.
